2012 Schedule Announced

After a seemingly endless wait, UMass finally has its first FBS schedule.

The MAC made the announcement today.

Here is what the Minutemen are looking at:

Aug. 30: at Connecticut
Sep. 8: Indiana
Sep. 15: at Michigan
Sep. 22: at Miami (Ohio)
Sep. 29: Ohio
Oct. 6: at Western Michigan
Oct. 20: Bowling Green
Oct. 27: at Vanderbilt
Nov. 3: at Northern Illinois
Nov. 10: at Akron
Nov. 17: Buffalo
Nov. 23: *Central Michigan, (ESPNU/ESPN3)

At first glance, I have one thought: That is a lot of frequent flier miles.

The Minutemen have seven road games and five at Gillette. Also, almost every away game is against a powerful opponent.

No one said this was going to be easy, but it feels good to finally know what UMass is up against.

I find it funny that BC’s blog, BC Interruption was one of the first places to comment on the MAC schedule.

They seem to care a great deal about the MAC and UMass.

    1. Bob McGovern says:

Let’s be clear here, BC cares so little about UMass that BC Interruption has written extensively on UMass’ upgrade, got into a three-hour twitter battle with us and says they don’t want to legitimize UMass, yet want to play other MAC schools.

They do the same with with UConn.
