According to Rivals, UMass has extended an offer to Jarred Alwan, a New Jersey linebacker that has been getting a decent amount of interest from FBS schools.
Rivals also has Alwan with offers from Boston College, Penn State and Temple.
Scout has a more extensive list on interested teams, but is not as up to date as Rivals with Alwan’s offers.
After watching some of Alwan’s recruiting video, it seems this kid has a good amount fo field sense and some speed. Also, check out his interception about twenty seconds into the video – I like that anticipation. He looks like the kind of kid that will be great in coverage at the college level, but he may have some work to do to become a run stopper.
I’ll tell you what though, he is not afraid to lower his shoulder.
