Eric Carter, a wide receiver from Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Fla., tweeted that he received an offer from UMass today from Allen Suber.

So that’s why they call him “Suber Man.”

Chris Nee, from Rivals, confirmed the offer via Twitter. Sunshine Preps is also reporting that UMass made an offer.

Carter’s Rivals page isn’t updated yet, but so far he is holding an offer from Cincinnati.

Carter is listed at 5’11 and 180 pounds and runs a 4.57 40-yard dash. According to Sunshine Preps, Carter had 51 catches for 860 yard and six touchdowns last season for Lake Gibson.

Sunshine Preps also reported that UMass made an offer to Freddie Stevenson, a 6’1, 225 pound linebacker from Bartow High School in Lakeland, Fla.

Stevenson also has scholarship offers from: Iowa State, Vanderbilt, North Carolina State, Western Kentucky, Marshall, FIU and Duke.

Rivals has similar information.

Nice quote from Stevenson from his NCSA page: “I pride myself on not being outworked. I work hard at everything I do in order to put myself in a position to succeed.”

Finally, Sunshine Preps reported that UMass made an offer to Isaac McDonald, a outside linebacker with a lot of height . McDonald, who plays for  Champagnat Catholic in Miami, is 6’6, and reports on his weight range from 205 to 210 pounds.

Subjectively speaking, this kid just has “the look.”

Hopefully the old adage, “You are the company you keep” is true, because check out these other schools with offers on the table: Clemson, South Carolina, West Virginia, Louisville, Marshall, North Carolina, Purdue. Rivals has a similar list.

Not bad UMass – not bad at all.

Check out this review from Gridiron Studs:
