Minutemen Rising and Grinding

When Charley Molnar was introduced as the new head football coach at UMass on December 8, 2011 he spoke at length about the kind of players he wanted to recruit.  Molnar said, “Here’s what I want: When it’s November, and championships are won in November – our guys are going to go out there with bare arms. They’re not going to have all that gear on. When it’s 11 and 12 degrees and the wind is whistling at Gillette Stadium and we’re playing for a MAC Championship, that cold is not going to bother our football team.”

It appears that the head coach has begun practicing what he preached back in December. Molnar took advantage of some early morning snow last Thursday to get his players acclimated to New England’s ever changing weather. The team was on the field practicing at McGuirk Stadium.
