(2012 Commit Jeremy Stinson/Hudl)
I know you guys can’t get enough kicker news, so here’s some more.
Jeremy Stinson, a kicker from Newburgh Free Academy, will be attending UMass next fall as a preferred walk-on, according to the Times Herald-Record.
While Charley Molnar said he would not be recruiting any kickers when he first arrived in Amherst, he now has three new faces on the roster for next year: Colter Johnson (transfer), Blake Lucas (preferred walk-on) and now Jeremy Stinson.
The only remaining kicker on the updated spring roster is Brendon Levengood.
It looks like we have an old-fashioned kicking battle on our hands folks.
This will not be for the faint of heart.

Didn’t I read somewhere that Morris had like 6 kickers on scholarship? If true that is freakin crazy. Would explain Molnar’s comments when he announced this yea’s recruiting class back on National Signing Day. If memory serves he was asked about kickers by a reporter and he said something like we already have a lot of money invested in kickers.
Yea, but by the looks of things, all of those guys took off. Now there are two preferred walk-ons that are effectively competing for a spot against a RS Junior and a transfer that has already played at the college level. These guys are going to have to earn a scholarship from Molnar at this point, and I think that’s a good thing.
