Julian Allen, a 6’4 wide receiver from Sewell, N.J., e-mailed us and said that UMass has been recruiting him.
Allen plays both wide receiver and defensive end for Washington Township High School and is also being recruited by UConn, Temple, Rutgers “and several FBS and FCS schools,” according to Allen. His Rivals page indicates that the other FBS a schools are Marshall and Central Michigan.
UMass invited Allen to one of its Junior Days, but Allen wasn’t able to go due to a “prior commitment.” He said he will be visiting campus and possibly attending a camp at UMass this summer.
Temple and UConn have been pursuing Allen the hardest so far. Allen went to UConn’s Junior Day and is going to its Spring Game on April 21st. He has made three trips to Temple so far and said that he has an “offer pending” with the Owls.
It sounds like he really likes UConn so far:
My family and I got to spend some individual quality time with Coach Pasqualoni and my recruiter Coach Cersosimo and we all left feeling like it was a family. With a pending offer I would have to strongly consider accepting.
Allen told us that he was “impressed with the direction” the UMass football program was heading.
