UMass Recruiting: Guerad, Chatmon

UMass continues to hit the Tampa Bay area on the recruiting trail. The Minutemen have extended an offer to Antonio Guerad, a defensive lineman from Tampa Bay Tech. The news comes via a tip from one of our readers, which was confirmed by the Tampa Bay Times. According to Rivals, the 6’4, 230 pound Guerad also has offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, among others. The site also has him as a two-star recruit. Last year Guerad had 32 tackles and two sacks, according to the Times. Two Notre Dame Athletes Heading to UMass

The Maroon Musket has learned that UMass has added a pair of fifth-year eligible players from Notre Dame. Deion Walker, a wide receiver, and Hafis Williams, a nose tackle, will play for the Minutemen next year, according to a source that could not comment further since the school has not released an official statement yet. Both players should be able to play immediately. Williams and Walker saw limited time for the Irish last year, but both were highly touted recruits coming out of high school. UMass has offered to a New Jersey athlete with a respectable array of Northeast offers. According to Matt Hladik, a sports reporter from the Tri-State area, the Minutemen are going after T.J. Taylor, a safety/wide receiver from Monmouth Junction, N.J. Hladik broke the news on Twitter: Monmouth Junction (NJ) South Brunswick ATH T.J.
