UMass has extended an offer to Cortavious Givens, a 2014 recruit from Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, Fl.
The news comes via Givens, who tweeted about the offer yesterday:
While UMass is the first school to offer Givens, he has an impressive list of interested schools – including Miami and Michigan State – according to Rivals.
The 6’0, 200-pound running back/linebacker was listed as one of the 25 players Tampa Bay to watch by Big County Preps. By our count, Givens is the second 2014 Tampa recruit that UMass has extended an offer to. Rohan Blackwood, from Nature Coast High School, was the first.
Last season Givens tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus and is still in the process of recovering, according to a John Cotey article in the Tampa Bay Times. Cotey also wrote that, prior to his injury, Givens was considered one of “Tampa Bay’s best and most promising runners.”
Take a look at his highlights.
