The Minutemen have made offers to a number of Sunshine State athletes during the past few days.

Polk Preps reported that UMass has extended an offers to two Lake Wales football players - Bobby Leath and Davion Riley. Leath is an offensive/defensive lineman with offers by some major players, including Florida and Missouri. Leath is a 2013 recruit, and at 6’3, 290 pounds, he already has impressive size. Riley is a 2014 tight end from with offers from Tennessee and Florida International.

Napoleon Maxwell, a linebacker/running back from Admiral Farragut High School in St. Petersburg, picked up a UMass offer yesterday, according to John Cotey with the Tampa Bay Times. Cotey broke the news on Twitter:

According to Big County Preps, Maxwell, a 2014 recruit, ran for 528 yards last year. According to Rivals, UMass is the only school to offer. John Cotey was nice enough to send me Maxwell’s highlight tape … it’s long, but the homecoming scene in the beginning is pretty great.  Maxwell is the second Farragut athlete that UMass has offered to recently.

Chris Thompson, a wide receiver from Gainesville High School, also picked up a UMass offer. Cedderick Daniels, an assistant coach at Gainesville High, mentioned the offer on Twitter. According to Rivals, Thompson has also has offers from Marshall and Utah. Thompson is a 2013 recruit and according to his hudl page, he stands at 6’0 and runs a 4.43 40. Check out his highlights here.

Ryan Bass, a reporter with the Bright House Sports Network, tweeted that UMass has offered Xavier Johnson, a running back/defensive back from that Tampa area that we have discussed here before.
