(2013 Recruit Franklyn Richardson/Sun Sentinel)
UMass has offered scholarships to three Fort Lauderdale athletes.
Franklyn Richardson, a wide receiver from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, tweeted that the Minutemen made an offer:

Richardson’s Rivals page has him at 6’0 and 173 pounds but doesn’t yet have any offers listed. He was the wide receiver MVP at a Schuman’s National Underclassmen Football Combine back in February. The site indicated that “he’s a fluid router runner, has good speed (4.63 40) and has great hands.”
Check out his highlights here. Notice that he had a good game against De La Salle High School, a California powerhouse.

Chris Nee reported two new UMass offers yesterday. One is for DJ Woods, a wide receiver, and the other is for Jalen Battle, a safety. Both athletes are from the Fort Lauderdale-based University School.
Woods is currently a two-star recruit and holds offers from Indiana, Toledo and Tulane, according to Rivals. Check out his highlights here.
Battle also has an offer from Buffalo, and like Woods, holds an offer from Tulane, according to Scout. ESPN has Battle listed as a quarterback.

NOTE: Darrius Commissiong, a defensive lineman with a UMass offer, has committed to Georgia Tech, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Random, but has anyone seem the countdown to uconn on umassathletics.com? It shows the two teams helmets on it and ours id clearly different from the past. It’s a silver helmet saying UMass on the side still but with a red stripe down the middle.
I wouldn’t make too much of that. If you look at the “C” on the UConn helmet it ALSO appears to be silver when in reality it’s white. Poor graphic color rendering in my opinion.
