June, 2012:

UMass Commit: Jordan Page

UMass’ future offensive line is beginning to take shape. The Minutemen received a verbal commitment from Jordan Page, a 6’5, 300-pound lineman from Pennington, N.J that we’ve mentioned before. Page confirmed the commitment on Twitter today: After a long recruiting process I’ve decided to play football at the university of massachusetts let’s goo!! #minutemen — JordanPage (@ShwankDaddy) June 30, 2012 Page is a two- or three-star recruit, depending on who you ask. Rivals, Scout and ESPN have him listed as a two-star lineman, and 247 Sports has him at three stars. Each site indicates that Page also held an offer […]

UMass Commit: Sam Zeff

UMass picked up an offensive lineman with an impressive list of offers. Sam Zeff, an offensive lineman from New Jersey, has verbally committed to UMass, according to XOFan. Brian Dohn from Scout confirmed on Twitter. Earlier this week, it was reported that Zeff was visiting Amherst today with his parents. Zeff held offers from UConn, Rutgers, Temple, Tulane and Yale, according to Rivals. The 6’5, 277-pound lineman is a two-star recruit. Check out his highlights here. UMass now has two offensive linemen in its 2013 class. Here is the updated list of committed recruits. Cole Ormsby, DE: Windsor HS (Conn) […]

UMass Recruiting: Reggie Green

Reggie Green, an athlete from Cranford, N.J. with an offer from the Minutemen, has narrowed his list of potential schools to five – and UMass made the cut. The news comes via XOFan, which has done a tremendous job covering UMass recruiting and broke every story regarding its recent commitments. XOFan also had the original article about Green’s decision to trim his list, and I mistakenly thought the writing was on the wall, and the Minutemen were out of the running. Sometimes it feels good to be wrong. Green’s final list includes: UMass, Boston College, Temple, Pitt and NC State. Noticeably missing […]

2013 Recruiting: Brandon English

The Minutemen have received a series of Northeast commitments, but they are still making a strong push down South. UMass has extended an offer to Brandon English, an Orlando, Fla. running back, according to Rivals’ Chris Nee. Nee broke the news on Twitter: English is a two-star recruit and currently holds offers from Middle Tennessee State, Temple and others, according to Rivals. This 5’9, 190 pound back has one of the more exciting highlight reels I’ve seen this recruiting cycle – check it out. – NOTES: While UMass has had a tremendous week on the recruiting trail, not all news is […]
