(2013 Recruit Shane Huber/247 Sports)
Shane Huber, a 6’3, 230-pound linebacker from New Jersey that we’ve talked about before, is visiting UMass on Friday.
The news comes from a few sources, but it looks like Chris Smith from Southern Prep Stars broke the news early this morning on Twitter:

Matt Alkire, from XOSports, caught up with Huber later in the day and spoke to the 2013 recruit about his upcoming visit. Huber had a lot of good things to say about the UMass staff, but this one goes on the fridge:
I talked to Coach Elmassian for two hours about football and he was awesome. They’re not only great coaches there, but great men at UMASS.
Huber is currently listed at a two-star recruit and holds a number of offers, according to Rivals. Check out his highlights here.

Not all news is good news for UMass recruiting this week. According to Alkire, Old Dominion received a verbal commitment form T.J. Armstrong, an outside linebacker from Pittsburgh. UMass offered Armstrong in late May.
I’ve got to say, Old Dominion has been doing a damn good job on the recruiting trail this offseason. The Monarchs already have five commitments, and it looks like head coach Bobby Wilder is selling the newest C-USA member well.
