(UMass will play Maine during the 2013 season)
The University of Massachusetts will face off against a familiar foe in 2013.
According to Matt Vautour from the Daily Hampshire Gazette, UMass will play the Maine Black Bears at home on September 7, 2013. The news confirms rumors we had heard previously.

34 days until kickoff, clock is ticking. I’d hope for at least 30,000 fans at Gillette, to show everyone that there is some support from UMASS fans/friends. 12,163 people attended todays opening PRACTICE for the PATS. Four easy suggestions for UMASS to attract fans to their games. 1.) Send down a couple interns/students with about 10,000 schedules,with ticket prices to UMASS games to hand out to these football fanatics!! Every day. Simply ask Kraft for permission. 2.) Send out an all employee email to all UMASS(all campuses,esp. Worcester) employees with the schedule and encourage departments to have group gatherings with a discount.3.) Get Charley Molnar interviewed on many radio stations, giving out tix. 4.) This is a must. Have players,coaches at every dorm handing out schedules and ticket info to every parent and family member as they move in their kids on Labor Day weekend. Parents are looking to keep involved with their students, this is a good way. Most of these folks live in greater Boston,offer a family discount. UMASS alumni, alone, will not get enough people to Foxboro. These ideas don’t cost much, just getting in the trenches and working.

I bought my season tickets and am trying to get every UMass fan I know attend the Indiana game.
Got the season tickets and all my buddies are in the same two rows in section 109, have the flags to fly high above the tailgate, and the UMass cornhole broken in. I’m pretty sure we are ready.
