UMass Commit: Daquan Mack

(2013 commit Daquan Mack/

Daquan Mack, a powerful running back from Pennsylvania, has committed to UMass.

The news comes from Matt Alkire, who broke the commitment on Twitter. The commitment comes on the heels of news that Mack was “leaning toward” committing to UMass.

Mack is a 6’1, 248-pound power back. I had the opportunity to speak to Alkire, and he said that Mack has been flying under the radar and has the ability to be a “big back” at the next level who can get some reps as both a halfback and fullback.

As it stands, if Mack suited up for the Minutemen today, he would be the team’s biggest back.

Now all that’s left is to figure out a nickname: Mack Truck, Big Mack, Mack Attack, etc.

Here is the updated list of recruits who have verbally committed:

  • Cole Ormsby, DE: Windsor HS (Conn)
