After losing by 50 to Michigan – and allowing the Wolverines to cover the monsterous 46.5-point spread – the Minutemen are again big underdogs.
The major online bookmakers have Miami (OH) as 25.5 to 26.5 favorites this Saturday in Oxford. The only over/under listed is 51.5.
For the record: The Redhawks are 0-3 agains the spread so far.
As I will explain later this week, I think UMass will cover. While the Minutemen have gotten off to a tough start, Miami has had its own set of troubles and has had problems putting up big points. The Redhawks are still trying to establish a consistent running game, and while they are strong through the air, I don’t think it will be enough to beat UMass by more than three touchdowns.
