December, 2012:

UMass Commit: Peter Angeh

Peter Angeh, a 2013 defensive end from Maryland that we’ve mentioned before, has committed to UMass. He made the announcement on Twitter: A long time coming! Taking my talents to Amherst! #UMass #D1Bound #Willows — All-American (@DoctorWiseman) December 31, 2012 On Dec. 21, Angeh indicated that he was down to two schools: Ohio and UMass. He also holds offers from Western Michigan, Temple and Cincinnati, according to Rivals. He posted a photo on instagram with a chart breaking down the pros and cons of both UMass and Ohio. The fact that there is a “9″ next to playing time isn’t lost on me. […]

UMass Recruit: Kyle Levere

Kyle Levere, a 2013 wide receiver from Baltimore, told the Maroon Musket he is taking an official visit to UMass on Jan. 25. “I’ve been speaking with coach (Jeff) Burris since the beginning of the season, and I’m going on my visit on the 25th,” he said. “If they offer most likely I’ll commit soon after.” Levere is considered a two-star recruit by Scout, Rivals and 247 Sports. He has offers from Buffalo, Robert Morris and Central Connecticut State so far. He said that DaQuan Mack, a running back from the Philadelphia area that verbally committed to UMass, wants to […]

Shane Huber Decommits

Shane Huber, a New Jersey linebacker who committed to UMass back in July, has decommitted and will open up his recruitment. Scout’s Brian Dohn broke the news on Twitter: Rivals’ Matt Hladik also tweeted about Huber’s decision. Huber was high on UMass early, and was one of the first recruits to publicly praise Charley Molnar and his staff. Back then he had offers from Navy, Temple, UCF and Buffalo. Rivals has the same schools interested. 247 Sports and Scout have the same. This is just speculation, but I’m guessing Rutgers is getting involved after Huber’s impressive senior year, which […]

UMass Recruit: Rahmein Herron

Rahmein Herron, an 2013 recruit from Hoboken High School in New Jersey, is close to committing to UMass. Herron told the Maroon Musket that he was “looking forward” to committing. He added that he has to get through the NCAA clearinghouse first. The clearinghouse  verifies the eligibility of a student-athlete. He said that Delaware, Monmouth and Maine are showing interest, but UMass is his leader. Herron said he “fell in love with” UMass during his visit during Junior Day last year. He and his mother liked how “the coaches care for their players.” Dave Sollazzo, UMass’ assistant head coach and defensive line […]
