Ron Hudson, offensive line coach for the UMass football team, is reportedly leaving the team to take the same position at Nevada.
The news comes from FootballScoop.com, a site that follows the comings and goings of football coaches.
Hudson is the second member of the coaching staff to depart this offseason. Mike Kruczek, UMass’ former offensive coordinator, left the team to coach high school football down in Florida. UMass head coach Charley Molnar has yet to name Kruczek’s replacement.
Hudson has some experience out in the Rocky Mountain region. Prior to his time with UMass, he was the offensive line coach for New Mexico.
He will join Nick Rolovich, Nevada’s offensive coordinator. Rolovich was briefly UMass’ offensive coordinator, but quickly turned around and accepted the same position at Nevada. He was later offered the offensive coordinator job at Temple but opted to stay with the Wolfpack.

When your coach leaves to take a similar position at a higher-prestige school, that is good, it means he’s relatively highly valued (and of course, vice-versa). So, this story is certainly not a negative.
Hey guys. I have very few rules about what goes on in here, but I definitely have one. If you want to speculate, argue or throw out blanket statements, that’s fine. However, please refrain from framing something as true, unless, of course it is. That’s how someone (See: Me) can get in trouble. If you identify yourself and/or your source, that’s fine. Otherwise, it’s pretty much double hearsay – aka. double unreliable.
That’s all from me. Cheers.

It’s college football, these coaches lead a nomadic existence, next!
Exactly. Always looking for a better opportunity..more money..
Oh boy, here come the trolls and boo birds! Ya never hear from them when we have good news! Sad, too bad Coach Molnar . . . can’t please everybody!
I have a source that tells me to expect more players and coaches to leave. Not many people are a fan of how Molnar runs things.
Tell your source that the door swings both ways. Molnar is the boss.
Proof or it didn’t happen.
Good one Scoops. My source says that your source ate a ham sandwich for lunch yesterday- could not be verified at press time.
I love how whenever a player/coach moves on there are suddenly people like Hot Rod and The cryptic CM that come out on this and other boards like they’re heralds of the coming tribulation. Good grief.
Wasn’t Rodney the same tool who said there were going to be a bunch of transfers leaving when the kid from Somerville decided to leave? Well were still waiting on that one so I don’t put much credence into his comment today.
Now, as far as staff turnover: 1) it happens to some degree every year at every program. 2) As the first staff Molnar has ever put together it would not be surprising to see multiple changes as Coach finds what he thinks is the proper mesh.
And on queue I happen to read an article talking about coaching staff turnover: only 5 programs in all of FBS have had the same staff intact for 3 years! http://coachingsearch.com/home/2247-five-teams-could-enter-2013-with-same-staff-for-3-straight-seasons.html
Smart guy
1-11 wasn’t enough for these guys.
