UMass will hire Mike Golden to be its strength and conditioning coach, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The source chose not to be identified because the university has yet to make a formal announcement.
Golden was most recently the strength and conditioning coach at the University of South Florida under former head coach Skip Holtz. Holtz was recently fired by USF and subsequently hired by Louisiana Tech, where Damon Harrington will handle strength and conditioning duties.
Prior to his time with USF, Golden was the director of strength and conditioning at East Carolina, also with Holtz. While at ECU, Golden worked with the Pirate football program and ”the remaining 18 East Carolina teams.”
Golden was first hired by Holtz in 1998 during his final season at UConn. He then spent three years with Holtz at South Carolina before his five years at ECU.
He is a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), United States Weightlifting Federation (USWA) and National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).

Molnar was smart and the department is allowing a football only strength coach. This is much needed for a top level D1 program that umass is trying to become.
this does not affect Otrando other than him not working with football anymore he will still do all the other sports that he’s been doing.
That picture is horrible. Looks like a DUI mugshot
Is Bob Otrondo leaving?
I haven’t heard anything definite yet, but it sounds like he will be sticking around.
