E.J. Burston, a wide receiver who verbally committed to UMass, told the Maroon Musket he remains committed to the program in the wake of rumors that he was considering FIU.
“I’m going to be a Minuteman until the day I die,” he said. “No doubt about it.”
Yesterday, Ryan Bass from the Bright House Network reported that Burston was considering Florida International. Bass interviewed Palmetto head football coach Dave Marino, who said: ”I think he likes the opportunity of being with (UMass commit Shaq Harris) and the facilities and everything UMass has to offer, but I think he also likes the fact of being closer to home at FIU. In terms of the scheme, if UMass was 60 or 180 miles away, it would be a done deal. He likes the close proximity of FIU but he likes everything else that UMass has to offer.”
Burston wanted to dispel any rumors that he was interested in FIU and said as much on Facebook.
“Just to bring all the rumors and confusion to a stop, I am most definitely not reconsidering going to UMass,” he said. “The University of Massachusetts is where I am committed and will be signing Feb. 6.”

According to 247 sports, we have a super prospect visiting today. Lorenzo Woodley, 6’0/200 RB is visiting today . . a high 3 star prospect!
Where are you seeing that Tom? I can’t seem to find it.
Nevermind – found it. Thanks Tom.
Bob ,look under the UMass page under visits and they mention it.
help a brother. Can’t seem to locate on the 247 site
I saw that Daquan Mack is going to be on campus this week for a visit. Will there be any other recruits up this weekend?
Just wondering if other programs who “could” go D1 are starting to promote that idea.
Teams like Towson (Baltimore area), James Madison & Old Dominion (VA) and Georgia State (Atlanta)
Teams like this would seem like a fit for anything called the Big East.
Just wonderin’

too bad about Harris
Has MM tried to reach out to Harris to see if Rivals is correct?
I haven’t yet, but I am definitely working on it.
Well, it looks like Rivals may be right:

On rivals they have him as an OG, maybe he wants to play oline over DT where he would play for us.

“I’m going to be a Minuteman until the day I die,”
Now that is how you dismiss a rumor. Love it.
GREAT quote.
