UMass Recruiting: Kevin Cohee, Jr.

Kevin Cohee, Jr., a 2014 linebacker/tight end from Roxbury Latin High School, picked up a UMass offer.

The news comes from both ESPN Boston and the Boston Herald. Both were tipped off about the offer by Roxbury Latin Athletic Director Tony Teixeira.

Cohee is 6’3, 240 pounds and also holds an offer from UConn. He attended UMass’ Junior Day at Gillette Stadium last weekend.

There isn’t too much out there about Cohee right now, but now that he holds offers from two FBS programs, the major recruiting sites will likely pay attention soon.

boy, there is a clip or two in which the field looks like it was set up in my backyard.. Anyways, I like a recruit who is a TE/LB. They usually have good speed and quick feet. If they bulk up, its a nice combo to have on either line

Really, really early to make any comments on a player who has not even finished his Jr year yet but it would seem this one is built very nicely to be a DE for us. With some weight training he should measure out at 6’4 265-270 and that is a good size for a DE who can move well.

Wish we could have seen more of the film of him against BB&N (the LSU lookalike team) and we might have seen him matched up againt the O’Neil kid a TE/ DL who signed w/ Wake Forest I believe. O’Neil is around 6’5 240 and is the son of a former UMass OT from Braintree MA.

Really enjoying this blog a lot and all you do. Also enjoying the bloggers who almost entirely seem like good, salt of the earth, sturdy, loyal, well intentioned, and so supportive UMass fans.

( Unlike the swarthy, fake, pink hat wearing, born w/ a silver spoon in their a$$, which way is the wind blowing, less than hearty, why sure I will pay $50,000+ a year for a diploma of dubious value BC fans).

Could not have said it better myself Larry. It’s about time that Massachusetts gets a real college football team to rally behind. BC better get ready to take a backseat to ol’ UMASS. Can’t wait for that 2014 game.
