With Signing Day just days away, UMass was making some moves on the recruiting trail. Aside from picking up a verbal commitment from Arthur Williams, Charley Molnar and staff also had a number of running backs on campus. Daquan Mack, a rumbling power back that has already verbally committed to UMass, was in Amherst on a visit. As was Lorenzo Woodley, a three-star back from Miami who holds offers from all over the place, according to 247 Sports. Woodley has offers from schools ranging from Purdue to Cincinnati. Arthur Williams, a safety from Florida that we have talked about a number of times before, has committed to UMass. Matt Alkire broke the news on Twitter: According to Rivals, the two-star recruit chose UMass over Florida International, Buffalo and Western Kentucky. He is the second scholarship defensive back in the 2013 class so far, joining Jackson Porter, who committed in early December. UMass extended an offer to Williams back in early March. In late August Williams said that he was deciding between [...]

Arthur Williams, a Florida safety we have mentioned before, is narrowing his list – and UMass has made the cut. According to Chris Nee, now with 247 Sports, Williams is down to three schools: Florida International, South Alabama and UMass. That means Williams effectively removed Buffalo, Bethune Cookman and Western Kentucky from his list. At the very least, this is yet another indication that UMass is out-recruiting the Bulls. Williams is 6’3 and 180 pounds, and according to ESPN, he runs a 4.79 40. Back when we first reported UMass’ initial offer, there wasn’t too much out there about this [...]
