Darren Thellen Invited to Giants Minicamp

The University of Massachusetts continues to be a pipeline for the New York Giants. Darren Thellen, a former safety for the UMass football team, has been invited to Giants minicamp, according to multiple sources. The invitation comes on the heels of New York drafting Mike Cox in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. If both athletes make the team, they will play alongside UMass’ alumnus Victor Cruz, if he signs with the Giants. Nine UMass seniors participated in drills on Monday at the team’s pro day event at The Dana Farber Field House next to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. Fourteen NFL scouts were in attendance to get an up-close look at Michael Cox, Perry McIntyre, Stephane Milhim, Quinton Sales, Nick Speller, Darren Thellen, Deion Walker, Alan Williams, and Hafis Williams. Milhim to Participate in NFL Combine

Stephane Milhim, one of UMass’ best offensive linemen, will participate in the NFL Combine on Feb. 23 in Indianapolis, according to UMass Athletics. Milhim was invited to the Combine back in early January. Here is more from the school’s press release: Last season, UMass standout tightend/full-back Emil Igwenagu attended the NFL Combine before signing as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2010, Vladimir Ducasse attended the combine and was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the NFL Draft. Milhim Invited to NFL Combine, Tripuka to Jets

Stephane Milhim, arguably UMass’ best offensive lineman this past season, has been invited to the NFL Combine. The news comes from UMass Football’s Twitter page. Milhim is the second former Minuteman to make news in NFL circles recently. Travis Tripuka, a former longsnapper for the Minutemen, has been added to the Jets offseason roster. SNY.com broke the news, and Tripuka tweeted about it later. Tripuka will join former Minutemen Vladimir Ducasse and John Griffin on the Jets.
